Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Policy, has claimed that the All Progressives Congress, APC-led administration is depleting the Labour Party, LP.

Bwala made this assertion while answering questions on TVC on Wednesday, noting that members of LP were leaving for APC.

He also predicted that the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, would eventually defect to the ruling APC.

Bwala said: “Do you know we are emptying the Labour Party? It’s not because we go and ask them to come; they are coming. Valentine Ozigbo has joined us. Balami has joined us. Even Peter Obi will join us.”

He further stated that Obi would not contest the 2027 presidential election on the LP platform, adding that any coalition he joins would face internal conflicts.

According to Bwala, such a coalition would only need two weeks of media attention before its members start clashing due to their conflicting ambitions.

“They are emptying the Labour Party, not because we go and ask them to come; they are coming,” Bwala reiterated.
