Governor Namadi warns against destruction of government facilities

Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, says the engagement of 9,974 security guards is part of proactive measures to prevent the destruction of government properties in the state.

Governor Namadi stated this while speaking at the passing-out parade of the first batch of security personnel held at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Fanisau, Dutse.

He said the initiative aims to safeguard schools, hospitals, courts, and water facilities across the state, with a total of 9,974 security guards recruited under the program.

According to him, “The personnel will be deployed under three indigenous private security companies assigned to different senatorial zones.”

“The initiative is designed to protect the investments made in these public facilities. We have witnessed rampant destruction of these institutions by vandals who steal windows, furniture, and other essential materials in schools, courts, water projects, hospitals, among others. As a responsible government, we have taken proactive steps to prevent such losses,” he said.

He urged the security personnel to carry out their duties with integrity and professionalism, assuring them of the government’s commitment to their welfare.

Governor Namadi reiterated his administration’s commitment to protecting public facilities and ensuring their sustainability.
