'Good to know before negotiations' - Poland responds to Lithuania's investigations on Russia

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk responded on Monday to Lithuania’s investigation into Russia.

The Lithuanian prosecutor’s office had earlier stated that Russian special services were behind the arson attacks in Vilnius and Warsaw last year.

Reacting to the findings, Tusk posted on X, saying it was important to have this update ahead of ceasefire negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.

According to Tusk, the news confirmed Poland’s suspicions that Russia was responsible for the sabotage.
“Dear allies, the investigation by the Lithuanian prosecutor’s office has confirmed our suspicions that the Russian secret services were responsible for setting fires at shopping centres in Vilnius and Warsaw,” Tusk wrote.
“Good to know before negotiations. Such is the nature of this state.”

Poland and the Baltic countries—Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia—have been among Ukraine’s strongest supporters in its efforts to repel Russia’s full-scale invasion over the past three years.
