2026 WCQ: Aribo thrilled to make Super Eagles return

Southampton midfielder Joe Aribo is delighted to return to the Super Eagles, Media Talk Africa reports.

Aribo last featured for the Super Eagles in the final match of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations against Côte d’Ivoire last February.

The 28-year-old is in Nigeria’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.

“It’s a really good feeling. I’m happy to be back, happy to get involved with my team, and get the results we are looking for,” he told Oganla Media.

The Super Eagles had their first training session under new manager Eric Chelle on Tuesday.

The former Rangers player said the team is trying to adjust to the Malian’s style of play.

“It’s a good feeling. We believe in what he wants from us, what he wants to implement in the game. We just have to trust in what he says to us on the pitch and carry it into the games,” he added.
