Heartland boosted their chances of escaping relegation from the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, courtesy of a 2-0 victory over Kano Pillars at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri on Saturday.

Samuel Agu scored both goals for Emmanuel Amuneke’s side.

Agu opened scoring for the Naze Millionaires six minutes before the break.

The defender doubled the hosts’ lead from a dree kick 13 minutes from time.

Heartland moves to 16th position in the table with 38 points from 32 matches.

Kano Pillars remain in eighth position with 44 points from same number of matches.
