Appeal Court President constitutes election tribunals for Bauchi State

The President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, has constituted the governorship and national and state Houses of Assembly election tribunal for the 2023 general election in Bauchi State.

This is contained in a statement by the tribunal secretary in the state, Mr Ibrahim Kala, in Bauchi on Monday.

Kala, who is also the registrar of the tribunal, said the development was in accordance with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution and the Electoral Act.

“In pursuant to the powers conferred on the Honorable President, Court of Appeal by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended) and the Electoral Act 2022, Justice Monica Dongben-Mensem has constituted the Governorship Election Tribunal and the National/State Houses of Assembly Election Tribunal for the 2023 General Elections in Bauchi State.

“The two tribunals, which consist of the panel of judges and the registry staff, have opened their registry for official business at the former High Court No. 8, Bauchi.

“For any inquiry, the general public is hereby advised to contact the Registry/Secretariat of the Tribunal at the above-mentioned court address,” he said.
