Two Enugu Labour Party Reps defect to PDP

Two Labour Party, LP, members from Enugu State on Tuesday criss-crossed to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The lawmakers include Mark Obetta from Nsukka/Igboeze South and Dennis Agbo, representing Igbo Eze North/Udenu.

Their defection was announced during plenary by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abass.

Abass said the two lawmakers made their defection known to the House via a letter.

Disclosing the content of the letter, the Speaker said the lawmakers attributed their actions to the lingering crisis in the LP.

In the letter, the defectors stressed the need to find a more conducive platform to represent their constituents.

Earlier, Abass announced that all PDP lawmakers from Delta State have moved to the APC.

A few weeks ago, former Delta State governor, Ifeanyi Okowa and his successor, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori dumped the PDP for the APC.

Oborevwori and Okowa defected during a stakeholders meeting in Asaba, Delta State.
