2027: Victory certain for Tinubu, APC — DSP Barau declares

Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, has expressed strong confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) will secure a landslide victory in the 2027 general elections, citing the administration’s performance and growing party unity.

Speaking at the APC Northwest Zonal meeting convened by Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani over the weekend, Barau urged party members to maintain unity and continue supporting the President to ensure continued progress and eventual electoral success.

“It is clear that in 2027, we are going to have a landslide victory, Insha’Allah,” he stated. “Let us keep cooperating with one another, support the President, and remain united so we can achieve our goals.”

He attributed the recent wave of defections from opposition parties to the APC to President Tinubu’s efforts in tackling Nigeria’s security and economic challenges.

“The influx of opposition figures into our party is not by accident. It’s the result of President Tinubu’s leadership and the visible progress he’s making,” Barau said. “Security in the Northwest has significantly improved. Places that were once no-go areas, like Birnin Gwari and parts of the Abuja-Kaduna corridor, are now accessible.”

While acknowledging that the country is not yet where it ought to be, he noted that ongoing reforms and projects show that the administration is on the right path. “It’s a work in progress. The president is working tirelessly to solve the challenges facing the nation, particularly insecurity in the North.”

He also praised APC governors for their dedication to grassroots development, emphasizing their role in strengthening the party’s influence.

Barau commended the APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, for steering the party toward unity and growth, calling for continued collaboration among leaders and members.

“With our growing strength and the momentum we’ve gained, it feels like there’s no other political party in the country — especially in the Northwest,” he said. “Let’s remain focused, united, and committed so we can deliver a resounding victory come 2027.”
