Taraba Residents Laud Uninterrupted Power Supply Ahead of Presidential Visit

Jalingo residents enjoy 24-hour uninterrupted electricity supply — Daily Nigerian

In a surprising turn of events, the city of Jalingo, the capital of Taraba State, has been enjoying an unprecedented 24-hour uninterrupted power supply. This sudden improvement in electricity provision has coincided with President Bola Tinubu’s one-day official visit to the state. The Vice President, Kasshim Shettima, is set to represent the President at the Taraba International Investment Summit, TARAVEST 2025, which is expected to draw high-profile guests from around the world.

Residents of Jalingo are thrilled with the consistent power supply, which is a far cry from the epileptic electricity they had grown accustomed to. Donald Musa, a resident of Nukkai, a suburb of Jalingo, expressed his delight at the situation, describing it as “unprecedented.” He noted that the city had experienced frequent power outages in recent times and hoped that the stable supply would continue even after the presidential visit.

Maimuna Abubakar, another resident, observed that the previous power supply was limited to just four hours a day. She suggested that the sudden improvement might be connected to the President’s visit, but nonetheless commended the Yola Electricity Distribution Company for their efforts. Abubakar urged the company to maintain the improved supply even after the presidential visit, as it would greatly benefit the community.

Mrs. Grace Ishaku, a resident of Jalingo, shared similar sentiments, attributing the sharp improvement in power supply to the presidential visit. She emphasized the need for the development to be sustained, highlighting its potential to boost the state’s economy. The Taraba State is set to host its first international investment summit, which is expected to attract high-profile guests and provide a platform for investment opportunities.

As the state prepares to host this prestigious event, the consistent power supply has come as a welcome relief to residents and visitors alike. The improved electricity provision has sparked hopes that the state’s economy will receive a significant boost, and residents are eager to see if the development will be sustained beyond the presidential visit. With the Taraba International Investment Summit just around the corner, all eyes are on the state to see how it will leverage this opportunity to drive growth and development.
