Kebbi PDP accuses state govt of using court to suppress opposition

PDP leadership has failed - Fabiyi slams party over failure to punish Wike

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kebbi State has accused the state government of using the judiciary to target opposition voices, following a Sharia court ruling against its Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Sani Dododo.

The party made the allegation at a press conference held at its state secretariat in Birnin Kebbi, where it condemned the court’s decision as politically motivated.

PDP State Chairman, Usman Suru, said the ruling stemmed from comments Dododo made during a radio programme, which he insisted were made in his official capacity as the party’s spokesperson.

“His remarks reflected the PDP’s collective position on what we consider reckless, extravagant, and rudderless governance under Governor Nasir Idris,” Suru stated.

He described the judgment as unjust and aimed at suppressing opposition in the state.
