Seriake Dickson, national leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has described a strategic meeting with the party’s state chairmen in the North-West zone as “very fruitful,” saying discussions focused on campaign preparations for the 2027 general Elections.
In a post on his verified X handle, the former Bayelsa State governor said the session reviewed plans to secure victory for all NDC candidates. He called on members, supporters and stakeholders to work together in the collective interest of the party.
“It was a pleasure to host a strategic meeting of the national leadership of our party with the State chairmen of the North-West Zone, a very critical region in the politics of our country,” Dickson wrote. “I commend the leaders of the zone led by our Vice Presidential candidate, His Excellency Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, for their commitment and readiness to work for the success of our party. The discussions were fruitful, and we remain confident that victory is achievable.”
The meeting underscores the importance the NDC attaches to the North-West, a region with significant electoral weight. Dickson’s engagement with zonal leadership signals an early push to consolidate structures ahead of the next national polls.
Media Talk Africa reports that the NDC has named former Anambra State governor Peter Obi as its presidential candidate and former Kano State governor Rabi’u Kwankwaso as his running mate for the 2027 election.
