CAN Chairman Urges Nigerians to Pray for Mokwa Flood Victims in Sallah Message

Eid El Kabir: CAN urges Nigerians to remember Mokwa flood victims

Nigerians are being called upon to remember the people of Mokwa in their prayers, particularly during this challenging time. The Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Niger State, Most Rev. Dr. Bulus Dauwa Yohanna, made this heartfelt appeal while congratulating the Muslim faithful on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir. As the Catholic Bishop of Kontagora Diocese, Yohanna expressed optimism that the difficulties facing the state will soon come to an end.

In his Sallah message, Yohanna urged residents of Niger State to use the period for introspection and to seek God’s mercy. He emphasized the importance of hope and perseverance, especially in the face of the recent devastating flood that affected Mokwa Local Government Area. The flood has caused immense destruction, and Yohanna encouraged everyone, including the government, to offer support to those affected. He also prayed for the souls of those who lost their lives in the disaster.

Yohanna’s message of love, peace, and unity resonated deeply, as he encouraged Nigerians to embrace their neighbors regardless of their tribe or religion. He called on everyone to be agents of peaceful coexistence, promoting unity and reaching out to those in need, especially in Mokwa. The cleric highlighted the significance of Eid-el-Kabir, which embodies values of love, peace, and sacrifice that extend beyond the festive season. He advocated for tolerance, synergy, and cooperation to achieve common goals.

In addition to his message, Yohanna extended congratulations to the Farmer Governor Umaru Bago, the Council of Traditional Rulers, the Etsu Nupe, all royal fathers, and the entire Muslim Ummah. His words of encouragement and unity serve as a reminder of the importance of coming together during challenging times. As Nigerians navigate the difficulties facing their state, Yohanna’s call to prayer and solidarity offers a sense of hope and resilience.
