Residents of Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State have lamented the late arrival of election materials in polling units in the area for the presidential and National Assembly elections.

The late arrival of election materials delayed the commencement of election processes in most of the polling units visited in Doma LGA.

Our correspondent, who visited Sanke polling unit in Galadima electoral ward at 9:40am, observed that accreditation and voting were yet to commence though voters were eager to check their names at the polling stations while awaiting the commencement of the exercise.

One of the residents who spoke to our correspondent, Hamza Ahmed, said” The late arrival of election materials has really affected us in Doma LGA. So many voters are waiting for the process to start. We hope that the Independent National Electoral Commissionb will intervene on our behalf.”

The further reports that voters arrived in large numbers in Angwan Aya polling unit in Doma, LGA.

However, the exercise has not commenced owing to the Biometric Data Capturing Machines which are not connecting as a result of poor internet challenges being experienced in the areas.

Also, in Doma North primary school, the exercise had not commenced due to the late arrival of election materials and the officials are yet to kickstart accreditation.

Our correspondent, however, observed that the voters are waiting patiently as INEC officials are still sorting out materials in the area.

Security

There is presence of well-dressed and gallant security personnel at all the polling units visited to ensure orderliness and the safety of voters, INEC officials and voting materials.

Restrictions.

There is a low restriction of movement in Doma town as people were seen in clusters discussing the voting process.
