#NigeriaElections2023: Materials arrive late, voting starts behind schedule in Benin

Voting materials arrived late in most of the polling units in Benin city which led the late commencement of the exercise.

However, the electorate waited patiently at their different polling units in readiness for the exercise.

At the INEC office in Oredo Local Government Area on Ekewan Road at 8.20am, an official stated that the materials have already been distributed to polling units but a visit to some polling units around Ring Road showed that the officials were not at the polling units.

Materials arrived at Emokpai Primary School polling units (10 units) at 8.56am while materials arrived at Oredo ward 12 by 9.33am.

At Garrick Secondary School, which had 10 polling units, the voting materials arrived at 9.45 am with voting already waiting for the INEC officials.
