LP Crisis: Abure agent of Tinubu govt used to destabilize Peter Obi - Kenneth Okonkwo

Politician Kenneth Okonkwo, has accused the National Chairman of the Labour Party, LP, Julius Abure-led executive of being an agent of the President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Okonkwo said Abure is a government agent sent to destabilize LP’s former presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

He disclosed this in an interview with Symfoni TV released on Saturday.

Okonkwo also decried that the Abure-led executive lied and misled Obi.

He said despite their lies, Obi still recognized them publicly.

According to Okonkwo: “I told Obi that these people had become agents in the hands of the government to destabilise him.

“And after saying all those things, within like 72 hours, Obi went back to Abure’s office to publicly endorse them.”

Recently, Obi alleged that the APC’s infiltration of LP led to the crisis within the party.

But, Umar Ibrahim, the LP national secretary, accused the former presidential candidate of misleading Nigerians on the actual cause of the party’s crisis.

Ibrahim insisted that all political parties in Nigeria have one form of internal conflict or the other.

Despite the crisis and factionalization, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had recognized Abure.

LP currently has Abure, Arabambi and Nenadi Usman jostling for the position of its National Chairman.
