Use of BVAS makes election simple, straightforward – Niger Gov. Sani Bello

Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello has declared the use of the Biomodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) as simple and straightforward.

Bello stated this shortly after casting his vote for the presidential and National Assembly elections at his polling unit; 004 Alkali Mustapha in his country home, Kontagora, Kontagora local government area of the state.

He arrived at the Polling Unit alongside his wife, Dr. Amina Abubakar Bello who also cast her vote.

The governor who is running for a position at the senate in Niger North Senatorial District commended the process saying,” the BVAS is nothing to worry about. With regards to ease of casting your votes, the entire process apart from waiting in the queue is less than two-three minutes and I think that is fine.IMG 20230225 WA0051

“I am highly impressed with the technology, I thought it would be a complicated exercise, but it appears to be a very simple exercise and straightforward”, he said.

He called on the electorate to remain calm, tolerant, and conduct themselves in a peaceful manner throughout the entire election process, adding that reports reaching him from the neighbouring local government areas alleged large turnout in the rural areas more than in urban areas

” I am optimistic that the turnout will improve in the urban centres as the process continues”.
