Rain in Lagos, roads deserted as election results trickle in

Rain showers fell in parts of Lagos Saturday night after the conclusion of the presidential and national assembly elections.

Major roads on Lagos island and mainland remain deserted as residents monitor the outcome of the polls with results trickling in.

Only a few cars and a handful of people were seen on roads in Oniru, Lekki, Victoria Island, Ikoyi, and the Lekki-Epe expressway.

Residents in Yaba, Ikeja, Ikotun, Igando and other places on the mainland confirmed human and vehicular movement was still low.

Media Talk Africa observed increased security in front of the Bourdillon residence of All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate Bola Tinubu.

Also noticed was patrol by police officers and military personnel, while headquarters of banks and other big companies remain guarded.
