Kebbi: PDP suffers setback in Suru as members join APC

The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Suru Local Government Area of Kebbi State has received a major boost as hundreds of members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, defected to the ruling party.

The decampees, from Aljannare Ward, were received during a political gathering on Saturday, facilitated by prominent APC figure Alhaji Abubakar Shehu Naingila. They cited the developmental strides of Governor Nasir Idris and Naingila’s grassroots support as key reasons for their decision.

Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Alhaji Shehu Agadas said the move was influenced by recent defections of key political figures, including Hon. Muhammad Ruwa RK and Alhaji Riskuwa Dakingari, which signaled growing support for APC in the area.

The decampees pledged their loyalty to APC and expressed readiness to support Governor Idris’s administration.

Several APC leaders, including Hon. Usman Abubakar Ladan, Hon. Faruku Abubakar Maisudan, and Hon. Muhammad Lawal Suru, welcomed the new members and assured them of full integration into the party.

The event was attended by top APC stakeholders from Suru LGA and beyond.
