Rivers: I want peace – Fubara denies 2027 campaign caps, shirts

PDP governors challenge Fubara's suspension at Supreme Court

The suspended governor of Rivers State, Sim Fubara, has distanced himself from campaign materials for the 2027 election.

Fubara said he never authorised the production of campaign caps and shirts for the 2027 election.

Speaking with his followers in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Saturday, the suspended governor said he wants peace so that he can grow.

His comment comes after President Bola Tinubu resolved the political crisis in Rivers State.

Fubara’s political crisis with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory led to his suspension for six months.

Tinubu also declared a state of emergency in the state.

However, the president resolved the crisis last week during a meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

According to Fubara: “I was pissed off. Someone forwarded to me a video showing where they were producing campaign materials—caps and shirts—for the 2027 general elections.

“I am not aware of it, and I did not authorise or send anyone. Every one of us should understand that we have done our best, and what we need now is this peace for us to grow.”
