Election result: APC’s Lanre Okunlola wins Surulere Reps seat

Mr Lanre Okunlola of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has emerged winner at Surulere Federal Constituency ll in the House of Representatives elections held on February 25.

Prof. Akanbi Ilupeju, the INEC Returning Officer for the House of Representatives poll for Surulere Federal Constituency II, declared the result for the constituency at INEC’s collation centre in Surulere on Monday.

According to him, Okunlola emerged winner with 27,725 votes while Mr Shoyinka Abiodun of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, came second with 4,875 votes.

The returning officer said Mr Chika Onyejuba of Young Progressives Party had 3,048 and Mr Temitope Abolarin of New Nigeria Peoples Party, 345 votes.

“At the end of voting, Lanre Okunlola of APC has satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest number of votes and is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected, ” NAN quoted Ilupeju as saying.
