Mr Mathew Donatus Kozali, the Labour Party candidate for Kaura’s House of Representatives seat, has emerged the winner of last Saturday’s election in Kaduna State.
He defeated the incumbent, the Minority Whip of the House of Representatives, Gideon Lucas Gwani of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Mr Mathew Donatus Kozali polled 10,508 votes to defeat Gideon Lucas Gwani, who polled 10,297 votes.

Professor Elija D. Ella, the Returning Officer, who made the announcement at the Kaura Local Government Secretariat in the southern part of Kaduna, declared Mr. Mathew Donatus Kuzai as the winner.

He explained that Professor Benjamin Kumai Gugong of APC came third with 9,919 votes.

Gwani was seeking to occupy the seat for the fifth time.
