The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has emerged victorious in five out of the eight Local Government Areas (LGAs) announced so far in the presidential election held in Kaduna State on Saturday. The LGAs won by Atiku include Giwa, Makarfi, Kaduna South, Kauru, and Lere, all located in the northern part of the state.

Trailing closely behind Atiku is Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, who has secured victories in three local government areas situated in the southern part of Kaduna State. The areas won by Obi are Kaura, Kajuru, and Jaba. Notably, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has yet to win in any of the declared local government areas.

The results from the declared LGAs are as follows: In Giwa Local Government Area, the votes were APC – 19,922, PDP – 22,302, and LP – 565, with a total of 149,456 registered voters. The valid votes amounted to 46,435, while 1,662 votes were rejected. In Kaura LGA, the results showed APC – 1,847, LP – 25,744, and PDP – 7,847, with a total of 36,916 votes cast. The valid votes in this area were 36,222, and 694 votes were rejected. Lastly, in Kajuru LGA, the votes were APC – 3,940, PDP – 9,253, and LP – 14,875, with valid votes totaling 29,839 and 30,639 votes rejected.
