2023 Election: APC leads in 2 LGAs in Rivers State

The Independent National Electoral Commission has commenced the announcement of results for the presidential and the National Assembly elections at the state level in Rivers State.

The collation kick-started around 5:34pm on Sunday evening.

The State collation officer for Rivers State, Professor Charles Adias, Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Otueke, Bayelsa State, commenced the collation with results from Ahoda West local government area.

Other results announced are; Tai LGA and Opobo/Nkoro.

Presenting the performance of political parties, the returning officer for Ahoda West, Professor Cheta William, noted that the LGA has 12 wards and 84,710 registered voters.

Gokana and Abua-Odual were stepped down because of the inconsistencies in the result and what was already recorded in the BVAS.

Labour party won in Ahoda West LGA while APC won in Tai and Opobo/Nkoro LGA.

PDP: 2582

Accredited voters 11,505

Valid votes: 11,062

Rejected votes. 443

Tai LGA for the presidential election with 10 Wards

APC – 9442

PDP – 1506

LP – 485

Registered vote: 74106

Accredited votes: 12291

Valid votes: 11725

Vote cast: 12291

Rejected votes: 566

Opobo/Nkoro LGA, with 11 Wards.

APC – 5701

LP – 2093

PDP – 1542

Registered voters: 59047

Accredited voters: 10,094

Total valid votes: 9441

Rejected votes: 614

Total votes: 10,063

The collation continues today.

As of yesterday, Sunday, some LGAs in Rivers State were yet to send their results to the INEC office in the state.
