#NigeriaElections2023: Kano South APC senatorial candidate concedes defeat, congratulates NNPP candidate

The senator representing Kano South Senatorial District, Kabiru Gaya of the All Progressives Congress, has congratulated Kawu Sumaila of the New Nigeria Peoples Party for winning the senatorial seat for the zone.

Gaya, who conceded defeat in a statement on Monday in Kano, described the victory of Sumaila as the will of Allah adding that he will not contest what Allah has decreed.

He thanked the Almighty Allah for giving him the chance to represent his people since 1999 in the upper chambers.

He also commended members of his constituency for giving him the opportunity to serve them and urged them to support the newly elected senator to move the constituency and the state forward.

Sumaila, a former senior special assistant to the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on National Assembly Matters (House of Representatives) polled 319,857 votes to defeat Gaya who secured 192,518 votes.
