Former Benue State House of Assembly Speaker, Hyacinth Aondona Dajoh, has resigned from his position, urging peace in the state. The resignation comes after some lawmakers were accused of plotting his impeachment.

In his resignation letter submitted on Sunday, Dajoh expressed gratitude to various stakeholders, including his constituents, colleagues, and the state governor, Hyacinth Alia. On his official Facebook page, he posted a note of appreciation, acknowledging the support he received during his tenure.

Dajoh specifically thanked his constituents of Gboko West for electing him as a member of the 10th Benue Assembly. He also appreciated his colleagues for voting him in as the first Speaker of the 10th Assembly and for their support throughout his term. Additionally, he expressed gratitude to Governor Alia for his backing from the start to the end of his speakership.

The former Speaker also recognized the contributions of his aides and the Assembly staff, who helped him run the office effectively. He thanked his wife, Kundumiyol Dajoh, for her love and support, describing her as a supportive partner. Dajoh’s family members and everyone who assisted him during his term also received his appreciation.

In his statement, Dajoh attributed his success to the Almighty God, thanking Him for good health, wisdom, and grace. He prayed for God’s blessings upon his family, friends, and well-wishers who showed him love and support. As he stepped down, Dajoh called for peace, emphasizing that the journey ahead is still significant.
