The 2025 All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA, has unveiled its nominees, with Nigerian singers Burna Boy and Davido leading the pack with five nominations each. Shallipopi, a rising Nigerian street-pop musician, earned four nominations, including Song of the Year and Artiste of the Year. Similarly, Tanzanian artiste Diamond Platnumz and South African songstress Tyla secured four nominations each.
Other notable nominees include Rema and Ayra Starr, both from Nigeria, who received three nominations each. Tanzanian musician Juma Jux also earned three nominations, including Song of the Year for his song ‘Ololufe mi’.
