This translates to a 1.19 percent decrease in the price of 12.5 kg of cooking gas.

The average retail price for refilling a 12.5 kg cylinder of liquefied petroleum gas decreased by 1.91 percent on a month-on-month basis from N21,010.56 in June 2025 to N20,609.48 in July 2025. In contrast, the price increased by 44.51 percent on a year-on-year basis from N14,261.57 in July 2024. This fluctuation in prices highlights the dynamic nature of the LPG market.
A regional analysis of the prices reveals that Imo, Delta, and Rivers States recorded the highest prices of LPG during the period under review. In contrast, Kebbi, Nasarawa, and Kwara States had the lowest prices. This variation in prices across different states may be attributed to factors such as transportation costs, taxes, and local market conditions.
As of September 1, 2025, the average price of 12.5 kg of cooking gas in Abuja and its environs was reportedly around N15,000. This discrepancy in prices between different regions and the national average may be due to various market forces and external factors.
