Re-elect Tinubu, get more Federal projects - Ganduje, Deputy Speaker Kalu tell South East

Abdullahi Ganduje, the immediate past National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has denied reports that he plans to defect to the African Democratic Congress (ADC). His spokesman, Edwin Olofu, called the rumors “fake news” and affirmed that Ganduje remains a committed member of the APC. The denial comes two months after Ganduje resigned as National Chairman on 27 June, citing health issues. He had assumed the position on 3 August 2023 during an emergency meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee, after previously serving as governor of Kano State.

Olofu told journalists on Saturday that Ganduje is loyal not only to the APC but also to President Bola Tinubu and his Renewed Hope Agenda. He urged the public to disregard the baseless rumors of Ganduje’s departure from the party. Although speculation about a possible defection to the ADC had been circulating for some time, Olofu’s statement makes clear that Ganduje has no intention of abandoning the ruling party.

Ganduje’s loyalty is significant given his influence within the APC and his experience as a former governor. His continued commitment is likely to be viewed as a positive development for a party that has been working to consolidate its position since the last election. While the political landscape in Nigeria continues to evolve, the current denial puts to rest speculation about Ganduje’s future in the APC—for now. It remains evident that he remains a key figure within the party, dedicated to supporting its leadership and agenda.
