Governor Aminu Masari expressed his support for the election of Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, as the President-elect, describing it as the right choice. He characterized Tinubu as a “square peg in a square hole,” emphasizing his suitability for the role. Masari made these remarks shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced Tinubu as the winner of the 2023 presidential election.

During a vigil at the Government House in Katsina, where he and some members of his cabinet monitored the election results, Masari praised Tinubu’s intelligence, resourcefulness, and accommodating nature. Following the declaration of the results, he spoke with newsmen, commending INEC, security personnel, and the Nigerian populace for their roles in the election’s conduct. He stated, “God has vindicated me and other Nigerians by disappointing those who doubted INEC’s ability” to conduct credible elections.

Masari highlighted the significant turnout of voters, asserting, “We have delivered because we turned out en masse with our supporters and voted Bola Tinubu as our President.” He also urged his supporters to participate in the upcoming gubernatorial election, encouraging them to vote for Umar Dikko-Radda as his successor in Katsina State on March 11, 2023.
