Man City suffer injury blow as Marmoush picks up knee problem

Manchester City has been dealt an injury blow ahead of the highly anticipated Premier League derby against Manchester United on Sunday. The setback comes after forward Omar Marmoush sustained a knee injury while on international duty with the Egyptian national team.

Marmoush’s injury occurred during Egypt’s FIFA World Cup qualifier against Burkina Faso on Tuesday, when he was forced to come off in the ninth minute. The 26-year-old suffered a bruised knee ligament injury as a result of a tackle in the fourth minute of the match. Despite attempting to continue playing, Marmoush was eventually substituted out five minutes later.

The Egyptian Football Association announced that Marmoush had suffered a bruised knee ligament and will undergo assessment by Manchester City’s medical team. The player will now focus on recovering from the injury in time for the crucial match against Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium this weekend.

Marmoush’s injury is a concern for Manchester City, given the importance of the upcoming derby. The team will be looking to bounce back from recent performances, and Marmoush’s potential absence could impact their attacking lineup. Manchester City’s medical team will be working to assess the severity of the injury and determine the best course of treatment to ensure Marmoush’s swift recovery.

The Premier League derby between Manchester City and Manchester United is one of the most highly anticipated matches of the season, with both teams vying for top spots in the league. The injury to Marmoush adds an extra layer of complexity to Manchester City’s preparations, as they look to secure a win against their local rivals.
