Anambra Poll: LP guber aspirant, Nwosu dismisses Moghalu's emergence as candidate

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) gubernatorial candidate in Anambra State, Mr. John Chuma Nwosu, has praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for recognizing the David Mark‑led National Working Committee (NWC) of the party. He described the recognition as a major democratic gesture that offers voters a credible alternative to the existing parties and provides much‑needed relief to an electorate seeking a trustworthy option.

Nwosu drew a parallel with the state’s political climate in 2003, when the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) dominated and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) emerged as a viable alternative. He noted, however, that 24 years later APGA has become complacent in power and now treats the people with disdain. In contrast, the ADC’s newly affirmed leadership, he argued, signals impartiality on the part of INEC and paves the way for a coalition of patriotic opposition politicians to work toward a national rescue.

Dismissing claims that INEC’s decision is part of a conspiracy to set up the ADC for judicial destruction, Nwosu emphasized that the electoral commission has simply fulfilled its responsibilities. With the ADC now recognized as a legitimate party, he believes voters in Anambra State will finally have a credible alternative. The party has completed all necessary documentation and is ready to contest the upcoming elections.

Nwosu expressed confidence that the people of Anambra will exercise their franchise wisely, electing a servant leader rather than arrogant, opportunistic politicians. He expects the recognition of the ADC’s leadership to force all parties to focus on issue‑based campaigns that address the concerns of the electorate. As the elections approach, Anambra’s voters will have the opportunity to choose a new leader who prioritizes their needs and works toward the state’s betterment, ushering in a significant shift in the region’s political dynamics.
