Former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs and Senator-Elect for Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has expressed that the election of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as President-Elect is a testament to his widespread acceptance across the nation. Akpabio made this statement through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Jackson Udom, in Uyo on Wednesday, following the announcement of Tinubu’s victory by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja.
On Wednesday morning, INEC declared Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as President-Elect, having received a total of 8,794,726 votes. Akpabio emphasized that Tinubu’s success in a competitive presidential race reflects his acceptance throughout Nigeria and beyond. He stated, “Asiwaju is a tested and trusted hand in service delivery. He did it before when he called the shots in Lagos State, and I am very confident that he will do more for Nigerians as its leader.”
The senator further noted that Tinubu possesses the ability, capacity, and experience necessary to elevate the country in both national and international matters. He remarked, “The victory of our presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as declared this morning by the Electoral Umpire is a confirmation of his nationwide acceptance.”
Looking ahead, Akpabio indicated that May 29 would signify the beginning of delivering the promised dividends of democracy to the people. He stated, “Electioneering and campaigns are all over. May 29th will mark the commencement of the delivery of dividends of democracy to our people in our Renewed Hope promise.” He concluded by congratulating the leadership and members of the APC on this well-deserved victory.
