The Deputy Whip of the Senate, Sabi Abdullahi, has extended his congratulations to the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and his vice, Kashim Shettima. In a message delivered on Wednesday, Abdullahi praised Tinubu’s leadership qualities, emphasizing his unique ability to guide Nigeria into the next phase of its national journey. He stated, “I heartily congratulate Your Excellencies, President-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the Vice President-elect, Senator Kashim Shettima, on your victory in the just concluded presidential election. Your emergence speaks volumes about the unwavering confidence placed in you as leaders capable of advancing Nigeria’s progress.”
Abdullahi further noted that the results of the presidential election reflect the democratic credentials of the newly elected leaders. He assured Nigerians that under their leadership, there is no need to worry about the independence of institutions being compromised or about their freedoms and rights being suppressed. He emphasized, “Without a doubt, your goodwill has endeared Nigerians to embrace our great party, the All Progressives Congress, which advocates for collective prosperity for all, regardless of ethnic or religious backgrounds.”
The senator expressed his firm belief that Tinubu’s vision of “Renewed Hope” would build upon and enhance the policies initiated by the administration of His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari. Additionally, Abdullahi commended the Independent National Electoral Commission for conducting free and fair elections. He acknowledged the commission’s resilience in the face of challenges that threatened the peaceful conduct of the electoral process, stating that it has indeed met expectations in improving Nigeria’s electoral system.
