Troops from the Joint Task Force, Operation Enduring Peace, have arrested 25 suspected peddlers of illicit drugs in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State. The operation, which was carried out at Layin Sabon Kasuwa, also resulted in the recovery of various illicit substances.

According to Maj. Samson Zhakom, the Media Officer of the operation, the arrested suspects were found in possession of substances suspected to be Cannabis Sativa and other illicit drugs. The media officer noted that the activities of these drug peddlers have significantly contributed to the security challenges facing the state.

The operation was part of efforts to tackle the consumption of illicit substances in the state, which has been linked to various security issues. Maj.
