The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has released the membership list for the sub‑committees that will support its 2025 Elective National Convention, scheduled for November 15‑16 in Ibadan, Oyo State. The convention’s primary purpose is to elect new national officers for the party. In a statement, the National Convention Organizing Committee (NCOC) announced the members appointed to various sub‑committees covering accreditation, security, electoral matters, logistics, welfare and other key areas.

More than 100 party members have been named, including governors, former governors, senators and other senior figures. Governor Ademola Adeleke will chair the Accommodation Committee, while Governor Dauda Lawal heads the Accreditation Committee. Governor Douye Diri has been appointed Chairman of the Contact and Mobilisation Committee, and former Akwa Ibom Governor Udom Emmanuel will lead the Constitutional Amendment Committee. The Electoral Committee is chaired by NCOC Chairman Umaru Fintiri, with Governor Adeleke serving as Deputy Chairman. Senator Natasha Akpoti‑Uduaghan heads the Entertainment and Welfare Committee, and former Senate President Bukola Saraki chairs the Medical Committee.

Additional sub‑committees have been formed to oversee monitoring and evaluation, protocol, publicity, security, transportation and venue arrangements. These bodies are expected to play crucial roles in ensuring the convention runs smoothly and reflects the party’s commitment to democracy and good governance.

The 2025 Elective National Convention is a pivotal event for the PDP, marking the transition to new leadership and setting the party’s future direction. With the sub‑committees now in place, the PDP is preparing for a seamless convention that will be closely watched by party members, political observers and the general public. The announcement of these committees represents a significant milestone in the party’s preparation for the upcoming gathering.
