Nigeria Hajj Commission Prepares For 2026 Pilgrimage

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, has embarked on a mission to Saudi Arabia to finalize service agreements for the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage. Led by Chairman Prof. Abdullahi Usman, the delegation comprises commissioners and the Secretary of the commission. This trip is part of the preparations outlined in the operational calendar released by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, MoHU.

The Saudi authorities have set specific deadlines for various aspects of the Hajj preparations. For instance, September 6 to September 23 has been designated for early contracting and payment for Mashair, or camps. Additionally, September 23 and 24 are the deadlines for contracting essential services such as transportation and accommodation. The Ministry has also announced October 12 as the final date for the announcement of pilgrims’ registration and submission of data for grouping via the Nusuk platform.

In line with these deadlines, NAHCON has set October 8 as the cut-off date for State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare boards, agencies, commissions, and licensed Hajj tour operators to remit Hajj fares for the 2026 pilgrimage. This move aims to ensure that all stakeholders adhere to the Saudi authorities’ deadlines, ultimately guaranteeing a smooth and successful Hajj experience for Nigerian pilgrims.

The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah’s operational calendar serves as a guide for NAHCON’s preparations, emphasizing the importance of timely planning and coordination. By following this calendar, the commission can ensure that all necessary arrangements are made, and Nigerian pilgrims can have a seamless and spiritually fulfilling experience during the 2026 Hajj.

NAHCON’s efforts to conclude service agreements and adhere to the set deadlines demonstrate the commission’s commitment to providing a well-organized and successful Hajj experience for Nigerian pilgrims. As the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage approaches, the commission’s preparations will be closely monitored to ensure that all aspects of the journey, from transportation to accommodation, are meticulously planned and executed.
