A group, Oro-Ago Development Union, has strongly condemned the recent kidnapping and killing in the Oro-Ago community. The union’s statement, issued on behalf of Oba Johnson Olarewaju Dada, the Oloro of Oro-Ago kingdom, expressed shock and sorrow over the tragic incident that occurred on Thursday, resulting in the death of community leader Chief David Depo Aina, also known as Kebe.
The incident involved an attack by armed bandits, which the union described as a “cruel and barbaric act” that not only targeted the deceased and his family but also assaulted the peace, security, and dignity of the entire kingdom. The union firmly denounced the heinous crime and called on relevant security agencies to take immediate action to apprehend and bring the perpetrators to justice.
The Oro-Ago Development Union also urged government authorities at all levels to intensify their efforts to address the rising insecurity affecting communities. The union emphasized that the community deserves to live in peace and go about their daily activities without fear. On behalf of the Oloro-in-Council and the entire Oro-Ago Kingdom, the union extended condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for their strength during this difficult time.
The Oro-Ago Development Union remains committed to collaborating with stakeholders to ensure the safety, security, and progress of the Oro-Ago Kingdom. The incident has highlighted the need for enhanced security measures to protect communities from such attacks. As the community mourns the loss of Chief David Depo Aina, the union’s call for justice and increased security efforts serves as a reminder of the importance of addressing insecurity in the region.
