I'm responsible for actions, inactions of my government - Uzodinma

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma reiterated his commitment to accountability, stating that he is responsible for both the actions and inactions of his government. He made this assertion while attending a church service at the Government House Chapel to commemorate Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary. Uzodinma thanked God for the opportunity to lead the state and pledged to remain answerable for his decisions and actions as governor.

The governor acknowledged that Nigeria is endowed with abundant natural resources but continues to face challenges in utilizing them productively for economic recovery and improved livelihoods. He emphasized the need for change, insisting that old ways must give way to new approaches. Uzodinma urged citizens to move forward and not dwell on the past, highlighting the importance of productivity and hard work. According to him, a busy and productive mind is essential for progress, while idleness can lead to negative consequences.

Uzodinma’s remarks come as Nigeria navigates ongoing economic and social challenges. Despite its rich natural resources, widespread prosperity remains elusive, and many citizens struggle to access basic services and opportunities. The governor’s call for a new approach and his emphasis on accountability appear to respond to these difficulties. As the nation marks its 65th anniversary of independence, his comments reflect a broader demand for reform and progress. His commitment to accountability and focus on hard work may represent a step toward addressing both state and national challenges.
