Makinde Predicts PDP Victory in Oyo Beyond 2027

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has expressed confidence in the Peoples Democratic Party’s ability to retain power in the state beyond 2027 and reclaim the presidency in the next general elections. Makinde made this statement during the PDP State Congress held at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex in Ibadan, which was attended by ward and local government executives, ad-hoc delegates, and stakeholders from across the state’s 33 local government areas.

The governor commended the party for conducting its congresses at ward, local government, and state levels in a peaceful and transparent manner, citing this as a demonstration of the party’s strength and readiness for future elections. He charged the newly elected state executive members to intensify efforts towards ensuring the party’s success at all levels, from local councils to the presidency.

Makinde also reassured party members in Oyo State who have yet to benefit from his administration that their contributions have not gone unnoticed and will soon be rewarded. He emphasized that the ongoing congress exercise is part of a deliberate strategy to consolidate the PDP’s dominance, with the newly elected executives having a clear mandate to deliver PDP victories across all positions in 2027.

The PDP State Congress is a significant event in the state’s political calendar, bringing together key stakeholders to discuss the party’s future direction. With the next general elections approaching, the party is gearing up to retain its hold on power in Oyo State and make a strong bid for the presidency. Makinde’s assurance of the party’s success is a testament to the confidence of the PDP in its ability to deliver on its promises and meet the expectations of its members and supporters.

As the party moves forward, it is likely to focus on building on its strengths and addressing areas of weakness. The newly elected state executive members will play a crucial role in driving the party’s strategy and ensuring its success in the upcoming elections. With the PDP’s commitment to peaceful and transparent politics, the party is well-positioned to make a strong impact in the next general elections and achieve its goal of reclaiming the presidency.
