Yomi Fabiyi explains support for BBNaija winner Imisi

Nollywood actor and filmmaker Yomi Fabiyi has spoken out about his public support for Big Brother Naija Season 10 winner Imisi, stating that his actions were driven by genuine loyalty and gratitude. In an interview with Saturday Beats, Fabiyi revealed that his relationship with Imisi predates her reality TV fame, describing himself as a “father figure” to the young star within the movie industry.

Fabiyi explained that Imisi was the only housemate he knew personally, and that she has consistently supported him in his endeavors. He recalled that Imisi had attended his housewarming ceremony and helped ensure the event’s success. Fabiyi stated that supporting Imisi during the show was simply the right thing to do, given their existing relationship.

Imisi’s entertainment journey began under Fabiyi’s mentorship at his film academy, where she was a student. Fabiyi noted that Imisi has always been supportive of him and his son, and that they had previously lived in the same area in Ikorodu. He emphasized that her helpful nature and support date back to before she gained fame.

When asked if he had concerns about showing public support for Imisi, given that some people he had helped in the past had turned against him, Fabiyi stated that he does not let such experiences influence his actions. He acknowledged that some individuals may distance themselves from those who helped them in order to appear self-made, but emphasized that he remains unbothered by such behavior.

Fabiyi reiterated his commitment to doing what is right, regardless of the level of ingratitude he may encounter. His comments highlight the importance of loyalty and gratitude in the entertainment industry, where relationships and mentorship can play a significant role in an individual’s success. As Imisi’s career continues to evolve, Fabiyi’s public support serves as a testament to the value he places on their relationship and her personal character.
