'I'd have won BBNaija S4 if I weren't disqualified' - Tacha

Natasha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, is a reality‑TV star and entrepreneur who recently attempted to set a Guinness World Record for the most makeovers completed in 24 hours. The challenge took place in Lagos, Nigeria, during the Tacha Beauty Festival, an event designed to celebrate and promote the country’s creative and entrepreneurial spirit, especially within the beauty industry.

Tacha explained that she chose Lagos over the United Kingdom—despite receiving sponsorship offers from international brands—because she wanted to showcase the talent and vibrancy of Nigeria’s beauty sector. “London won’t give me the vibes I want,” she said, emphasizing her commitment to promoting her home country.

The 24‑hour record attempt began on Saturday night, with a target of 150 makeovers. By Sunday morning, Tacha had already completed 115 makeovers in just 12 hours, surpassing the previous Guinness World Record of 113 makeovers in 24 hours. The attempt was part of the three‑day Tacha Beauty Festival, which runs from October 10 to 12 and highlights beauty, culture, and resilience within Nigeria’s growing creative industry.

The festival provides a platform for Nigerian beauty professionals to display their skills and talents, helping to promote the country’s beauty industry on a global scale. By pursuing the Guinness World Record, Tacha aims to demonstrate the capabilities of Nigerian beauty professionals and place the nation’s beauty sector on the world map. The record attempt has attracted both local and international attention, with many following her progress on social media.

As the event concludes, it is expected to have a positive impact on Nigeria’s beauty industry, fostering growth and development in the sector. Through this effort, Tacha not only seeks to break a record but also to champion Nigerian talent and creativity, leaving a lasting impression on the global beauty community.
