A recent operation conducted by the Lagos State Police Command has led to the arrest of eight suspected cult members and armed robbers in the Odogunyan area of Ikorodu. The Bullock Tactical Team carried out the operation on Tuesday, October 15, 2025, following credible intelligence on the activities of criminal elements in the area.
The team stormed a suspected hideout at approximately 5:30 a.m., apprehending eight suspects allegedly planning coordinated attacks. The suspects, identified as Fadiya Ayodele, Lawal Rasheed, Akerele Demilare, Alimi Victor, Okiki Alufoge, Nurudeen Dolapo, Agboola Samuel, and Ayolade Victor, are believed to be members of a notorious cult and armed robbery gang.
A search of the scene yielded several items, including a Nigerian military camouflage uniform, a battle axe, an assault dagger, various charms, and counterfeit foreign currency totaling $3,000 in fake $100 bills. Preliminary investigations revealed that Fadiya Ayodele, the alleged leader of the Eiye Confraternity in the Odogunyan axis, confessed to handing over a locally made pistol to a suspect currently on the run, Adewunmi Annadex.
The police are currently working to track down the fleeing suspect and recover the weapon. Commissioner of Police CP Olohundare Jimoh commended the tactical team for their swift action, assuring residents that the Command remains committed to maintaining law and order across Lagos State. The arrest of these suspects is a significant step in addressing the concerns of residents and reducing crime in the area.
The operation highlights the efforts of the Lagos State Police Command to tackle cultism and armed robbery in the state. The Command’s proactive approach to addressing these issues is crucial in ensuring the safety and security of residents. As the investigation continues, the police will likely work to dismantle the cult and armed robbery gang, bringing those responsible to justice. The recovery of the locally made pistol and the apprehension of the suspect on the run remain key priorities for the police.
