WAFCON 2026 Qualifiers Super Falcons Squad Announced

The Super Falcons, Nigeria’s national women’s football team, has announced its squad for the upcoming 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Benin Republic. Coach Justine Madugu has selected a 21-player team, featuring several seasoned players, including captain Rasheedat Ajibade, Asisat Oshoala, and Esther Okoronkwo. Other notable invitees include Ashleigh Plumptre, Chiamaka Nnadozie, and Oluwatosin Demehin.

The qualifying fixture is scheduled to take place over two legs, with the first match set for October 25 at the Stade Kegue in Lome. The return leg will be held on October 28 at the MKO Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta. The aggregate winner of the two matches will secure a spot in the WAFCON 2026 finals, which will be hosted by Morocco in March 2026.

The WAFCON 2026 tournament also serves as a qualifying event for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, scheduled to take place in Brazil.
