The All Progressives Congress (APC) remains the dominant party in Nigeria, according to the Chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma. He made this statement during a meeting of APC stakeholders in Birnin Kebbi, the Kebbi State capital, where he expressed optimism about the country’s future under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reform agenda.
Uzodinma emphasized that the positive impact of the reforms is already evident across the country, with Nigeria gradually becoming prosperous again. The reforms, he explained, aim to reconstruct, rehabilitate, and rebuild a new Nigeria that works for everyone. He cited the removal of fuel subsidy as a significant decision that has increased revenue for the three tiers of government.
The governor also praised the administration’s youth empowerment initiative, which aims to empower 1,000 youths from each of the 8,809 electoral wards across the country. He described this initiative as a sustainable pathway to poverty eradication, demonstrating the government’s commitment to addressing the country’s socio-economic challenges.
The meeting in Kebbi State was attended by prominent politicians, including Senators Adamu Aliero and Atiku Bagudu, whose presence was seen as a sign of unity and political maturity in the state. Uzodinma welcome their participation, highlighting the importance of a unified front in driving progress and development.
The APC’s reform agenda, led by President Tinubu, has been gaining momentum since its inception. The government’s efforts to stimulate economic growth, empower youths, and address poverty are being closely watched by Nigerians and international observers alike. As the country continues on this path, it remains to be seen how the reforms will shape Nigeria’s future and impact its citizens. With the APC’s renewed focus on development and prosperity, the party’s stance as a dominant force in Nigerian politics is likely to persist.
