The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State has suspended Mallam Adamu Ototobor, the Chairman of Ward 9 in Etsako East Local Government Area, for alleged insubordination and misconduct. The suspension takes immediate effect following a thorough review of Ototobor’s recent activities within the party. In a statement issued by Edo State APC Publicity Secretary Prince Peter Uwadiae, the party said Ototobor’s actions were inconsistent with the principles, discipline and values of the APC in Edo State and breached party rules, constituting insubordination to constituted authority.
Consequently, the APC Chairman of Etsako East Local Government Area has been instructed to prevent Ototobor from attending or participating in any party meetings, events or functions pending further disciplinary proceedings. The party emphasized that it is founded on discipline, loyalty and respect for constituted authority, and any act that undermines these core values will be met with appropriate sanctions.
The suspension underscores the APC’s commitment to upholding its values and maintaining discipline among its members. With a strong presence in Edo State, the party uses this action as a reminder that behavior contrary to its principles will not be tolerated. The decision aligns with the party’s broader effort to promote a culture of discipline and respect, reflecting leadership’s consistent emphasis on adherence to its values and rules.
The suspension will remain in force until officially lifted by the party’s competent authority. Political observers in Edo State are closely watching the APC’s handling of this internal matter, recognizing that the party’s ability to maintain discipline and uphold its values will be crucial as it navigates the challenges of governance and politics in the state.
