Kogi Governorship Candidate Dumps Party for ADC

The 2023 Kogi State governorship candidate for the Action Alliance, Olayinka Braimoh, has defected to the African Democratic Congress, ADC. This development was announced by Braimoh on Saturday in Kabba, the headquarters of Kabba-Bunu local government area in Kogi State.

Braimoh’s decision to join the ADC is driven by his desire to effect change in the state’s leadership, which he believes has underperformed despite the state’s vast potential. He called on Kogi State indigenes to join the ADC, describing it as a platform that shares his vision for a new Kogi State. The ADC’s coalition, according to Braimoh, presents an opportunity for like-minded individuals to work together to address the state’s challenges, including poverty and ineffective leadership.

Kogi State, despite its rich resources and intellectual assets, has struggled with poor leadership, Braimoh noted. He expressed his disappointment that the state has not been able to tap into its full potential, with the “worst leading the rest” while more capable individuals have been sidelined. By joining the ADC, Braimoh aims to contribute to moving the state forward and unlocking its potential.

The African Democratic Congress has been gaining momentum in Kogi State, with Braimoh’s defection likely to boost its chances in future elections. The party’s focus on good governance, economic development, and social welfare may resonate with voters seeking change. As the political landscape in Kogi State continues to evolve, the ADC’s growing influence could have significant implications for the state’s future.

Braimoh’s decision to join the ADC reflects the ongoing realignments in Nigeria’s political landscape, as politicians seek platforms that align with their values and ambitions. The move is also a testament to the ADC’s growing appeal as a viable alternative to traditional parties. With the 2023 elections approaching, the ADC’s fortunes in Kogi State will be closely watched, and Braimoh’s defection may be a significant factor in the party’s prospects.
