The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded 155,472 results from 176,846 polling units, six days after the presidential election. This figure accounts for 88 percent of the total results from all polling units. As of the time of this report, the electronic transmission of results is still ongoing.

Nigerians had anticipated that the election results would be uploaded on Election Day, as promised by INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu. However, the Commission faced criticism for its failure to upload results to its viewing portal, which resulted in some party agents walking out on Monday at the National Collation Centre in Abuja.

Checks conducted by our correspondent on Friday indicated that the results from all polling units had yet to be uploaded on INEC’s website. According to the Commission, Bola Tinubu, the candidate for the ruling All Progressives Congress, received 8.8 million votes, while main opposition candidates Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi garnered 6.9 million and 6.1 million votes, respectively.
