African Democratic Congress Warns Against Indiscipline

2027: We're considering two options on electing presidential candidate - ADC

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has issued a warning to its members in Adamawa State, emphasizing its commitment to unity and party strengthening. In a statement released on Wednesday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, expressed concern over growing divisions among members in the state.

According to the ADC, its national headquarters has noticed a rising split within the party’s leadership in Adamawa State. The party recalled that its National Working Committee (NWC) had approved the formation of Interim Executive Committees to oversee party affairs in various states, including Adamawa, during a meeting on October 8, 2025.

Following an investigation, the ADC confirmed that the process conducted on October 25, supervised by the National Vice Chairman for the North East, was in line with the NWC’s guidelines. The process resulted in the appointment of Barrister Sadiq Dasin as the Interim Chairman of the ADC in Adamawa State.

The party has recognized Dasin’s leadership and urged members involved in parallel arrangements to reconsider their stance and pursue reconciliation. The ADC encouraged Dasin to extend an olive branch to all members and address legitimate grievances, reiterating its commitment to fairness and justice for all members.

The party emphasized its willingness to address genuine concerns but warned that it would not tolerate any acts of indiscipline that could undermine efforts to build a strong and democratic party. The ADC’s statement comes as the party seeks to strengthen its presence in Adamawa State and promote unity among its members.

The development is significant, as it highlights the party’s efforts to resolve internal conflicts and promote cohesion in advance of future elections. The ADC’s ability to manage its internal dynamics will be crucial in determining its success in Adamawa State and beyond. As the party moves forward, it is likely to face ongoing challenges in balancing the interests of its diverse membership while maintaining a unified front.
