APC lacks spirit of democratic sportsmanship - PDP

A Hausa-Fulani group within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jos North, Plateau State, has resolved its internal crisis, paving the way for a unified front ahead of the 2027 elections. The group’s reconciliation efforts culminated in a communiqué issued after a meeting on Tuesday, signed by the PDP Hausa–Fulani Reconciliation Committee.

According to the communiqué, the group has put aside its internal differences, marking a new era of unity, cooperation, and progress. The Chairman of the PDP Reconciliation Committee, Alhaji Bello Nakande, stated that all stakeholders and members had agreed to work harmoniously, supporting Governor Caleb Mutfwang, following a series of constructive engagements.

The communiqué praised the immediate past Chairman of the state PDP, Chris Adakuchili Hassan, and the outgoing State Executive Committee for their role in reclaiming power for the PDP during the 2023 general elections. The group congratulated Hassan and the SEC on their “sacrifice, resilience, and strategic leadership,” which served as an inspiration to party members across Plateau State.

The group also congratulated the newly elected Chairman of the party, Raymond Dabo, and condemned a “malicious campaign of calumny” allegedly sponsored by opposition figures, which claimed that Dabo is a convicted individual. The communiqué clarified that Dabo was “duly discharged, cleared, and acquitted” by a competent court of law, dismissing the allegations as “desperate attempts to distract” the party.

The group reaffirmed its support for Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang’s administration, commending his people-oriented leadership and commitment to peace, unity, and development in Plateau State. The group pledged to work towards his re-election bid in 2027, ensuring the party’s triumph in all forthcoming political engagements and elections.

With renewed energy and a shared purpose, the Hausa-Fulani group within the PDP is now united in its support for the party. The resolution of the internal crisis is significant, as it sets the stage for a stronger, more cohesive party presence in Plateau State ahead of the 2027 elections. The group’s commitment to Governor Mutfwang’s administration and the newly elected Chairman, Raymond Dabo, is expected to bolster the party’s chances of success in the upcoming elections.
