Nigeria Kidnapping: Bandits Abduct Deputy Speaker

The Kebbi State command of the Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the abduction of Muhammed Samaila Bagudo, the deputy speaker of the state House of Assembly, by armed bandits. According to the police, the incident occurred when the bandits invaded Bagudo town, wielding sophisticated weapons and taking the deputy speaker hostage at gunpoint.

Nafiu Abubakar, the command’s spokesman, stated that a search and rescue team has been established, comprising the police, army, and local vigilantes, to locate and rescue the abducted official. The team, led by Kebbi Police Commissioner Bello Sani, is currently combing through bushes and forests to track down the kidnappers and secure the safe release of the deputy speaker.
